Urban conversion of a neglected area

Project objective

The objective of this green project was the reconversion of an neglected area in the center of a collective housing complex with a shortage of green space per capita, into a recreation area with activities and facilities accessible to the public of all ages.

Total park area - 9450 square meters
green spaces - 5.957 m2
automated irrigation system
permeable secondary walkways made of compacted aggregates - 588 m2
gravel and sand protection areas around fitness and play equipment – 380 m2
main pedestrian walkways in granite - 1.120 m2
sports and play areas made of polyurethane rubber - 1220 m2
asphalt parking - 185 m2
bicycle paths, sidewalks and street furniture
recreational facilities on landscaped grounds
paved fountain with water jets

Beneficiaries

Located in the north-eastern part of Cluj-Napoca, Între Lacuri Park is a mainly green area where the residents of the Între Lacuri neighborhood - more than 10,000 inhabitants - will enjoy a space for relaxation and recreation.

“I congratulate the companies that carried out the works in this park because they finished the work ahead of schedule so that the people of Cluj can benefit from a 1 ha area of land that represents an oasis of greenery in a very important neighborhood of Cluj. There are 165 trees planted here, there are also electric bicycle charging sockets, a remote management system for public lighting, an automatic toilet, children's play facilities, a sports field and much more. I wish the people of Cluj to enjoy this park, as much as they can, in the conditions allowed by the authorities"
